Lemon And Honey Water

Hot Lemon and Honey

Simple, Delicious Digestive Tonic, Hot Water With Lemon & Honey

This recipe is just hot water, with fresh lemon juice and honey added - warm lemonade. It's also an effective healing and digestive tonic. For variety, substitute fresh lime - also a wonderful tonic but not as acidic as lemon.

Vegans may substitute other sweeteners. It won't have quite the same tonic effect, but close enough!

One important point to remember is that according to Ayurveda, honey shouldn't be heated much as it becomes toxic, so use hot but not boiling water for this recipe.

Use organic lemon and raw honey to get the maxiumum benefit from this simple but satisfying drink. Some people swear by drinking honey & lemon (or lime) first thing in the morning to lose weight. Children love it too, but not with ginger!
